The studio has in collaboration with Architects Bahn and Høsterkøb Parish Council to create the most beautiful new staircase and ramp solution in front of the church’s main entrance. The purpose was to create better access for people with disabilities and better working conditions for the staff. Zurface has supplied the beautiful stone materials.

We have focused on “Accessibility in the National Church” and universal design. The parish council has placed great emphasis on ensuring that the choice of materials harmonizes with the materials and expression of the church and cemetery.

Nordic granite in different colors is used in the solution. The stones are treated to prevent them from becoming slippery in the rain. Handrails and handrails are made of black lacquered steel with oak handrails and everything is designed with careful respect for the expression of the church. Lighting consists of spotlights hidden in the bulbous bridge under the railing and illuminates the step surface.
