The studio has won the contract for a new children’s house in Jyderup near Holbæk. Today, the area is an empty field with beautiful open spaces and a view down towards the town of Jyderup and large forest edges behind. The outdoor area for the playground is around 12,000 m² of which b The eagle house has a total area of 1,500 m².
nature, science & movement
The vision for the institution is to create a nature playground with high diversity.
Sensory stimuli are a key element, where children can be inspired by sounds and smells and follow the changing seasons. The institution is characterized by a Danish forest expression, with a playground that aims to support the children’s motor, sensory and nature education through play.
surroundings
The kindergarten is located near beautiful forest edges, a Natura2000 area, residential areas on either side and open spaces towards Jyderup town. The forest expression, the open spaces and the character of the plains are brought into play in the open spaces. A strong focus on nature that can function at the start of the institution is desired.
The elements of nature
Theme areas are incorporated that can support and develop the concept of nature in a concentrated way from a learning and experience perspective and from a biological perspective. The four elements EARTH, AIR, FIRE and WATER are worked with in separate areas of the playground.
Jyderup Børnehus is being built on a lovely south-facing slope near Stokkebjerg Forest in a scenic area near the town of Jyderup, and the area will form a fine setting for the future children’s institution.
The landscape and play area around the institution is designed as a master plan, designed for robustness and flexibility, to be able to function even if all elements were not established at once. It has been emphasized that the area is also process-oriented and for this reason alone, the master plan will change expression, which is seen as a strength and quality.
